Swanson Performance Horses is located in the beautiful Sandhills of Nebraska. The country is made of rolling hills and wet meadows dotted with homesteads, cattle, fence posts, windmills and of course Quarter Horses. The area is known as "Gods Cattle Country" for the great cattle and horses it produces.

Mark & Tammie were each born into cattle ranching families that believed that a good horse was the only way to get
a day's work done. Snow or shine, quality horses are a vital part of the ranching operation. Making horses is a way
of life out here with lots of miles and wet saddle blankets as the result of cattle work that must be done. The broke
horses that we offer have proven themselves as working ranch horses during calving, bringing in pairs from summer
grass, sorting and weaning, roping and doctoring, and whatever else the day brings. We believe that a solid
foundation needs to be created on the ranch before ever taking the horse to the arena.
Mark and Tammie have been performing in the rodeo arena for many years beginning with 4-H and Junior Rodeos.
From there they competed in High School Rodeo, Mark in team roping, steer wrestling and calf roping and Tammie
in breakaway roping, goat tying, pole bending, barrel racing and cutting. Both Mark & Tammie were National High
School Rodeo qualifiers. Tammie was the 1990 Nebraska High School Rodeo Association cutting champion. Mark &
Tammie both went to college on rodeo scholarships and competed in the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association
again making the national level.
The Swansons currently compete in the Nebraska State Rodeo Association, the Mid-States Rodeo Association and the
Pro Rodeo Cowboys Association. Tammie competes in barrel racing and breakaway roping and has qualified and
had success at numerous year-end association finals. Mark has qualified for numerous NSRA, MSRA and PRCA
finals and has a long championship list:
