| Swanson Quarter Horses is located in the Sandhills of Nebraska. The country is beautiful with an endless skyline dotted only with homesteads, cattle, fence posts, windmills and of course Quarter Horses. The area is well known for the great cattle and horses it produces. |
Both Mark & Tammie were born into cattle ranching families that believed that a good horse
was the only way to get a day's work done. Mark ranches at the Sillassen Ranch west of Arthur.
Snow or shine, quality horses are a vital part of the operation. Making horses is a way of life
out here with lots of miles and wet saddle blankets as one of the best ways for getting that
done. The broke horses that we offer have worked calving, bringing in pairs from summer
grass, sorting and weaning, roping and doctoring, and whatever else the day brings. Mark
believes that a solid foundation needs to be created on the ranch before ever taking the horse
to the arena. You can bet that our arena horse will also be your best ranch horse.
Mark and Tammie have been performing in the rodeo arena for many years.
They have competed from youth starting with 4-H, AQHA, Junior Rodeo, High School Rodeo,
College Rodeo, Amateur Rodeo, USTRC and now Professional Rodeo.
The Swanson's have an arena and during the summer months entertain several of their friends
and family most evenings. You are always welcome to an evening practice session!
With the addition of twins (Reese & Rylan) to the family in 2007, Mark & Tammie will be extra
busy in the coming years. You will be able to find these little cowkids at the arena soon!
